My girlfriend bought me this for Christmas of 2023 and I put it in my house and it works great. It’s actually kind of fun. I was recently touring the Caribbean, and in every island I went to. I was able to check on my front door every time somebody walked up to deliver something. I mean we got along with these things for many years but it is a great security system I believe. I have cameras all throughout my house and the front door doorbell and I definitely feel much more secure knowing my house is supervised by me when I’m not there.

This product was fine for 2 months. Then it stopped securely attaching to the base. It fell and camera shattered. Apparently this is a known problem for these doorbells. ExtraCareSupply had no issues taking my money for the product, but when I contacted them regarding the attachment issue they told me to take it up with Google. Buyer beware.

When we realized that the doorbell requires a full-on Google account (unnecessary email address, all those seriously annoying "Sign in with Google" pop ups and all the other reasons we avoid Google like the plague, incl. their browser), we didn't use it. Nest, we have used in another property and that was fine; just a regular Nest product account necessary. The doorbell all looked okay to install even if you're not terribly techie and it has all features of Ring but we decided to stay with Ring even if it is more expensive just because, well, the alternative is Google in your life and your home!
