For viewers from the United Kingdom, broadcast rights for Euro 2024 are being shared between the BBC and ITV/STV for Euro 2024.

The BBC will show England’s quarter-final against Switzerland, with both channels – as always – sharing the final.

Games were picked in advance, with the BBC showing England’s opening win against Serbia and the draw with Denmark after ITV banked on Gareth Southgate’s men reaching at least the semi-finals. ITV picked England’s final Group C game against Slovenia, the round-of-16 match against Slovakia and a potential semi-final.

Of the punditry teams for both channels, the BBC has 12 former England players on some kind of presentation duties, with the likes of Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer being particularly outspoken about England’s performances in Germany so far.

In the US, the entire tournament is being broadcast on Fox.

Why can I not watch the Euros in 4K?

Buying a brand new television with all the trimmings for the Euros has been made slightly redundant with the European Championship not being broadcast in 4K. Thom Gibbs explains more on that decision, plus the difference between HD and 4K here.

Where is it?

The tournament is being held in Germany, with 10 host cities: Dortmund, Hamburg, Berlin, Leipzig, Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Gelsenkirchen.
