Michelle Collins is the latest co-host to join The View, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The comedian has been a frequent guest host on the ABC daytime show and has been rumored as a potential addition to the show’s panel.
The View was expected to make an announcement of some sort on Wednesday’s show, which featured co-host Rosie Perez tearing up as she talked about her decision to leave the show after just one season. But there was no news about The View, apart from details around Perez’s departure, announced on Wednesday’s episode.
Still, Perez seemed to hint that Collins wasn’t just a guest during her farewell, as she hugged both Collins and new co-host Raven-Symone and said “welcome” to both of them.

Raven-Symone was named as the show’s latest co-host last month, filling the fourth panel chair, which had been occupied by rotating guest co-hosts since Rosie O’Donnell left The View in February.
Perez, it was announced Tuesday, is leaving The View in August after just one season.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg had previously told View viewers, when both Raven-Symone and Collins were just guest co-hosts, that they were hoping to make both permanent additions to the show. Collins has been guest co-hosting all week.
An official announcement about Collins is expected soon, likely on tomorrow’s show or next week. Goldberg is expected to be back next season along with Raven-Symone and Collins. It hasn’t yet been determined if Nicolle Wallace, who joined the show this season with Perez as part of an overhaul with O’Donnell returning, will return next season.
