Wild Gunman made a brief appearance in Back to the Future: Part 2, when Marty McFly travels to October 21, 2015.

He tries to impress a couple of kids at an arcade cabinet, showing off his shooting skills, but the boys are unimpressed, mocking: "You mean you have to use your hands? That's like a baby's toy."

The game was released in 1984 for the Famicom in Japan, before making its way to European shores in 1988. In it, the gunslinging player must come out on top in a series of duels, reacting faster than the opponent.

Wild Gunman later made an appearance as a microgame in the first WarioWare Inc. for the Game Boy Advance.
