Two top teen acts will face off November 13: One Direction announced Tuesday that they will release their new album the same day as Justin Bieber plans to drop his next LP. Inevitably, tweens are already jibing at each other on Twitter.
Made in the A.M. will be One Direction’s first album since Zayn Malik left the group and its final album before the band goes on an indefinite hiatus. The first single from the album, “Drag Me Down,” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Bieber’s lead single, “What Do You Mean?” shot up to No. 1 on the charts in its first week. The “As Long As You Love Me” singer hasn’t released a studio album since 2012, when Believe opened with 374,000 sales in the first week. One Direction’s last album, Four, sold 387,000 copies in the first week when it was released last year.
